This project is for CyberPointers Members only. The instructions will be available either electronically for free or you can order a printed black & white copy for $4, color for $8 or both for $11 to cover printing & postage. The electronic version will be emailed, so you will need to register to receive the instructions regardless of version. Registration closes on March 5, the last day of the March meeting.

Skill: Basic Intermediate

Technique: Fabric Covered Buttons, various stitches including Bargello, laid filling, Byzantine, diagonal weave, herringbone, darning pattern

Materials List: (pre-work suggested)

• Canvas: 12” x 12” 18 count mono, eggshell
• Stretcher bars and tacks
• Threads:
• Impressions 3022 (orange, 2 skeins) **
• Impressions 5076 (green)
• Impressions 6031 (purple)
• Impressions 0020 (black)
• Cotton Floss, DMC 608 (orange)
• Cotton Floss, DMC 744 (yellow)
• Cotton Floss, DMC 333 (purple)
• Cotton Floss, DMC 310 (black)
• Petite Sparkle Rays PS80 (yellow)
• Petite Sparkle Rays PS05 (orange)
• Petite Sparkle Rays PS21 (white)
• Petite Sparkle Rays PS02 (green)
• Frye Werks Soft Sheen FT24 (purple)
• 18 inches Cotton Floss, DMC blanc (white)
• 3 yards #8 Pearl Cotton, ecru
**NOTE: 2 skeins of Impressions are needed only for the color used for the borders; any of the colors may be used
• Other Supplies:
• Two (2) 1.5 inches self-cover buttons (size 60)
• One (1) 7/8 inch self-cover button (size 36)
• Assorted Halloween fabrics to cover buttons (3-4 inch squares, depending on print)

The button kits may be found at sewing, quilting, and craft stores (e.g., Joann's, Hancock, Michael's). The manufacturers are Maxant and Dritz.
