Minerva

Taught by Jim Wurth
Beginning March 1, 2009

minerva by Jim Wurth
Jim Wurth will be teaching "Minerva", a 4" color-study ornament, as our first workshop. The piece has fairly easy stitches (Triangular Jessicas are the most complicated) and Jim encourages students to use their stash and experiment with color. Jim stitched the original piece with each quadrant using the same colors but switching the color from one thread type to another (so pink perle in one quarter, pink metallic in the next, and so on). He said he's seen it done with different colors in each quadrant and he thought it was stunning, so he enjoys seeing everyone's sense of color, but will also be commenting and providing feedback on color balance on pieces in-progress if students post photos as they stitch and ask for his input.

The class began March 1 and will run for 6 weeks. This is designed to be a stash project and your project will not look like the one in the picture above.
