What is outreach? It is a literal reaching out from our organization to you, the community we serve. We are reaching out to share with you our love of needlepoint in all of its aspects. Since we are an educational non-profit, our outreach will be primarily of an educational nature. We will be sharing needlepoint stitches, history, art, current events, finishing, and preserving - all things needlepoint. This webpage is open to all visitors to learn about needlpoint. Outreach
Another aspect of outreach is doing good works with our needlepoint talents and skills. One such endeavor is Needle and Thread: Stitching for Literacy. You can learn more about both this project on the outreach page on the public side of this site.
When you take part in these activities, please let them know where you heard of them.
One other outreach project that CyberPointers will be helping with is the need for "kissing pillows." These are small cross-stitched pillows that say "I love you" and are given to deploying soldiers and their families. The soldier kisses the pillow and leaves it with his/her loved ones to keep. Many soldiers also take kissed pillows with them to Iraq. This design is copyrighted by Geraldine Trappey. Instructions for making them and charts for the design can be found in the Files section of the CyberPointers Yahoo group. Please note, these are PDF files.
