Playing with Bargello – Led by Christine Forber

Playing with Bargello

Designer:  Deborah Reichert
Source: 2026 Needle Pointers Magazine, available to all members on the ANG website

Description:
It looks like Bargello patterns are becoming more popular, again. These patterns are extremely flexible and often stitch up quite quickly. The ANG Needle Pointers magazine 2026 year-long project has Bargello patterns charted for 4” squares. There have been many Bargello-focused patterns in the NP magazine for a long time. Melita Glavin’s column, Timeless Treasures from the Archives, in the 2026 Mar/Apr issue focused on Bargello (page 50), giving reference to many of these. In this meeting program, I will not be focusing on one Bargello pattern, instead I will give some examples of my own work using Bargello patterns. Each day, I’ll show one or more examples, along with magazine references or website links. Some of these will be easy stash projects, based on the 2026 NP magazine patterns, some may be larger projects. Have fun playing with Bargello patterns using threads from your stash.
