Arrival of Spring – Gail Stafford
Description: On a walk in the neighborhood, who wouldn’t notice this beautiful yard and its lovely gazebo? This scene celebrates the arrival of spring with its fresh green grass, flowering white azaleas, the dogwood tree in full bloom, and new leaves on the red maple. Participants will learn to paint the unstitched sky. They will use a variety of overdyed threads, stranded embroidery cotton, and some thread blending to stitch this neighborhood scene. Canvas stitches include Cashmere, Nobuko, Criss Cross Hungarian and more. A few sharp needle techniques are used including the Outline Stitch and Lazy Daisies.
